According to the Public Policy Institute, in the next 30 years, Southern California will experience explosive growth in its population of retirement-age residents. By 2030, the state will have about three working-age adults per senior citizen. Looked at another way: The number of older adults in Southern California is projected to increase by 96 percent over the next two decades, while the number of working-age adults will increase by only nine percent. All of these things mean that, more and more, people need help with major lifestyle changes. With more than 170 franchise offices throughout the United States, Caring Transitions offers senior relocation, downsizing and estate sales. Aspects of that can include furniture arrangement, packing services, resettlement, de-cluttering and disposal of items. Caring Transitions can help a family figure out what items should become a family heirloom and be distributed to family members. But because the large senior demographic in the state is underserved and only continues to grow, there is a greater need for support services for seniors. "California has one of the highest number of seniors in the Unites States. There are 15.7 million seniors. There is a real aging trend going on where the number of seniors is increasing faster than any other segment of the population. I think it is one of those segments that really needs someone to fill the gap because people who are getting to this transition in their lives often need help,” Seman said. According to Seman, there’s room for more than 20 new franchise locations throughout Southern California. The total investment necessary to begin operation of a Caring Transitions franchise is from $58,112 to $85,812. This includes $44,900 to $49,900 that must be paid to the franchisor or an affiliate (depending on whether we finance a portion of the initial franchise fee). “The most important thing when it comes to growing into a new market is letting people know that Caring Transitions is here to help.
